Black as Smoke

Black smoke is pouring out of a chimney, so thick yet pure.
I see this from my bedroom window and
think about the purity in black animals.
Their fur coat is pure, smooth, and thick as the darkness of night.
Yet these animals seem to be the most honest
in the emotions and reactions.
Black is the most honest color
because is shows all the faults and blemishes
in our spiritual self, through our fight with darkness.
Black is the color of honesty and trueness to oneself.
